Arsenal’s wonderkid Max Dowman etched his name into the record books on Tuesday night by becoming the youngest player ever to appear in the UEFA Champions League
The 15-year-old midfielder came on as a 73rd-minute substitute in Arsenal’s 3–0 win over Slavia Prague, setting a new benchmark at just 15 years and 309 days old.

Dowman broke the record previously held by German striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who made his Champions League debut for Borussia Dortmund in 2020 at the age of 16 years and 18 days. Moukoko now plays for FC Copenhagen, who were set to face Tottenham Hotspur later on Tuesday.
Just last week, Dowman also became the youngest-ever player to start a senior match for Arsenal in their 2–0 League Cup victory over Brighton, further underlining his rapid progression and growing importance under Mikel Arteta.
