While strolling near Aber Falls in Rhaedr Fawr within Snowdonia’s Eryri National Park, the dog slipped off the path.

Concerned for his beloved pet, the owner descended into the ravine to reach the stranded dog and promptly sought help from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO)Rescue members swiftly located the dog and its owner, descending with ropes and equipment to assist them.

Crew successfully hoisted the dog to safety, though it sustained minor bruises.

Both the dog and its owner were guided back up to a path and safely escorted down to the main track.

This incident echoes a previous rescue in 2020 when another dog named Betsy was saved in Snowdonia after slipping her harness and spending three nights lost in the mountains.

Betsy’s owner, Kim Farrall, expressed relief as the rescue team retrieved her beloved pet with ropes, ensuring her safe return.
