Man Beats Girlfriend To Death In Bayelsa
A man identified as Koru Arepamowei has reportedly beaten his girlfriend, Toma Angolo, to death in Bayelsa State.
The incident happened on Tuesday at Ogobiri community in the Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
Punch Metro gathered that Arepamowei, who is in his mid-30s, and Toma, 22, were cohabiting.
Residents said the two lovers had a serious disagreement which resulted in a fight.
They suspected that Arepamowei hit Toma badly, which caused her to bleed to death.
The elder sister of the deceased who got wind of the incident caught the suspect and alerted a nearby police station.
Punch correspondent learnt that the father of the deceased, ServeGod Angolo, rushed her to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, where she was confirmed dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
She said, “The suspect is in custody.”
