The appellate court found him guilty of indecently touching and sexually assaulting the 14-year-old victim, affirming the sentence imposed by the Lagos State High Court.

According to Sahara reporters, the court set aside his conviction for earlier incidents but affirmed his conviction for the April 2021 incident, finding the prosecution’s evidence credible.

The sentences for counts 4 and 5 will run concurrently. Justice Folashade Ojo delivered the lead judgment, with Justices Abdullahi Bayero and Paul Bassi concurring. Baba Ijesha’s appeal was unsuccessful, and he will serve the affirmed sentence.
