The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has officially granted an operational licence to the Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, located in Ologbo, Edo State.
This significant milestone was celebrated at a ceremony where NMDPRA’s CEO, Farouk Ahmed, handed over the certificate to AIPCC Energy Limited, the refinery’s parent company. Segun Okeni, the head of technical operations at the refinery, accepted the licence on behalf of the company.

Okeni reaffirmed the company’s dedication to enhancing its role in the petroleum refining and gas processing sector. He also revealed that AIPCC Energy is currently developing three more projects, with one expected to be completed within the next year.
The operational licence serves as the final regulatory approval, meaning the refinery is now fully authorized to begin operations. The company is also in the process of finalizing agreements with a local oil firm to ensure a steady supply of crude oil for optimal production.
