Dele Momodu has expressed his concerns regarding the new university admission age requirement imposed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
On August 26, the government mandated that only individuals aged 18 and above would be eligible to take the National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams.
This decision sparked controversy, with critics questioning what younger students, who typically graduate from secondary school at the age of 15 or 16, should do while waiting to reach the required age for university entrance exams.
Weighing in on the matter, Dele Momodu, the publisher of “Ovation Magazine”, highlighted the story of Dr. Dorothy Jean Tillman, who became the youngest person to earn a doctoral degree at the age of 17 from Arizona State University

Momodu pointed out the contrast, stating on Instagram, “And Federal Government via Ministry of Education is saying Nigerian children should wait till 18 years before they write WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.”
