The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has demanded the immediate removal of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, over what it described as a tyrannical leadership
Recall that the management of the institution had shut down the university for three weeks due to a protest over the school fee hike.
In a statement signed by NANS Senate President Akinteye Afeez and made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday, the association condemned the hike in school fees, the lack of provision for student welfare, and other issues during his administration.
“We strongly condemn the oppressive and anti-student actions of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. K.O. Adebowale. His administration’s decision to hike tuition fees while ignoring the cries of students has brought untold hardship to thousands of Nigerian students.
