The Gunners had seen their form falter recently, hindered by a challenging fixture list and a series of injuries, leaving them nine points behind leaders Liverpool before Saturday’s match.

From the outset at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal took control. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring after 15 minutes, linking up with Martin Ødegaard before dancing past two defenders and blasting a shot into the top corner.

Thomas Partey, who came on as a substitute at halftime, extended the lead with a stunning 20-yard strike. Late in the game, youngster Ethan Nwaneri added a third, sealing the win.

Nottingham Forest, who had matched Arsenal’s 19-point tally coming into the match, struggled to make an impact. Their best opportunities were a pair of weak headers from Ryan Yates and Nicolás Domínguez.

Arsenal thought they had taken the lead earlier when Jurrien Timber tapped in from close range, but the goal was ruled out for offside after Mikel Merino was flagged in the build-up.

This victory marked Mikel Arteta’s 250th match in charge of the club, and he will be hoping it sparks a strong run of form to help close the gap on the Premier League leaders.
