Italian giants AC Milan have finalized a deal to sign England defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City, resolving a transfer standoff between the two clubs
The move, a loan agreement, will see AC Milan cover Walker’s salary for the duration of the deal. However, the agreement does not include an option to buy. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, stating, “AC Milan have agreed to sign Kyle Walker from Man City. Loan move with a non-mandatory buy option, salary covered by AC Milan. Travel and medical being planned. Manchester City’s captain ready for a new chapter.”
Walker had previously informed Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola of his intention to leave during the January transfer window, a decision accepted by the Spaniard. AC Milan approached the defender, quickly agreeing to personal terms, leaving only club-to-club negotiations to conclude.
While Walker prepares to begin his Milan chapter, speculation about his future remains. Guardiola hinted at the possibility of Walker moving to Saudi Arabia after the loan, citing the financial allure of the league.
This development comes amid heightened emotions, as Manchester City recently condemned a racist attack directed at Walker, emphasizing their support for the player.
