Driver arrested after reversing into three people including police officer

    A driver has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly reversing into a group of pedestrians, including a police officer.

    Three people were hurt when the suspect crashed into them at a Sainsbury’s car park in Exeter at about 5.30pm yesterday afternoon.

    The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

    A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called to an incident at Sainsbury’s Pinhoe Road, at 5.30pm yesterday.

    Three people have been injured but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

    ‘A police officer is among the people injured.

    ‘A cordon is in place and enquiries are ongoing.’
