Emeka Ugwuonye, the lawyer representing May Edochie, has publicly praised 2Baba’s approach to his separation from Annie Idibia and his plans to marry Natasha Osawuru
Ugwuonye noted that 2Baba has chosen to follow the legal route, rather than using cultural justifications for polygamy.
The lawyer highlighted that 2Baba made his separation from Annie public before filing for divorce, demonstrating a responsible and law-abiding approach.
Ugwuonye commended 2Baba for not attempting to manipulate public opinion by claiming a sudden interest in polygamous traditions, unlike some other public figures.
Ugwuonye emphasized that 2Baba is not planning to take Natasha as a second wife, but rather intends to legally dissolve his marriage to Annie before marrying Natasha.
The lawyer expressed hope that the divorce proceedings will be handled lawfully and concluded without unnecessary complications.
In a statement, Ugwuonye wished 2Baba and Natasha well in their future together, once the legal matters are finalized.
He praised 2Baba for doing things the right way and complying with the law, setting a positive example for others to follow.

We heard from 2Face that he is planning to marry Ms. Natasha Osawaru. We admit that a married man can fall out of love with his wife and develop love feelings toward another woman. That is possible. However, such a man, if married under the Marriage Act of Nigeria, must first divorce his current wife before getting married to the second woman.
2Face seems to have done things the right way. He first announced his separation from his wife, Annie, and the fact that he had filed for divorce. He is not planning to be a polygamist. He knows that he must divorce his current wife before marrying Natasha. To that extent, they are complying with the law. 2Face had done well in that regard. He did not try to gaslight the nation with some new-found love for African traditions and polygamy.
We hope that his divorce from Annie will be concluded in accordance with the law. And after that, we wish him and Natasha a happy marriage.”
