Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has approved the appointment of Linus Obogo as Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity

The governor also reappointed Nsa Gill as Special Adviser on Public Affairs

The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh.

According to the statement, Obogo’s appointment is part of the administration’s effort to strengthen its communication structure and ensure more effective public engagement.

“His Excellency, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Linus Obogo as Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor,” the statement read. “This appointment aligns with the administration’s commitment to strengthening its information machinery for responsive governance.”

Nsa Gill, who previously served as Chief Press Secretary, has been reassigned to a new role as Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

“Similarly, the Governor has appointed Mr. Nsa Gill as Special Adviser on Public Affairs. He is expected to enhance the interface between government and the public, promoting transparency and engagement in policy communication,” the statement added.

Before his reappointment, Gill was Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, and a journalist with The Nation newspaper.
