The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into a viral video showing actress Angela Okorie jogging while being escorted by armed police officers
In a statement posted Wednesday on its official X handle and signed by Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police described the officers’ behavior as falling below the expected standards of discipline and professionalism.
“The Nigeria Police Force strongly frowns at the conduct of armed police officers seen in a viral video trailing actress Angela Okorie while she jogged—an act clearly inconsistent with the professional standards and decorum expected of personnel of the Force,” the statement read.
Adejobi noted that although the video may have been filmed on or around a movie set, it has generated significant public concern and criticism.
“While it remains unclear whether the scene was part of a scripted production, the conduct of the officers in the video falls short of what is expected of members of the Nigeria Police Force,” he added.
He said internal processes have been initiated to identify the officers involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the footage, with disciplinary action to follow based on the outcome.
Angela has not commented on the matter.
Checks indicate that the video appears to be from a behind-the-scenes shoot for Queen of Guns, a project Okorie began promoting around eight weeks ago.
In a video shared on her Instagram page at the time, she captioned the teaser: “Day 1: Lights camera action! Queen of Guns is ready to blow away your mind. Are you ready?”
