Basketmouth had an encounter with students at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, who demanded he prostrated to them due to a traditional Yoruba cultural practice
Before taking the stage, the students demanded that he prostrate as a sign of respect, chanting “Dobale! Dobale!” until he complied.
Basketmouth initially joked about the request, saying, “Elder go prostrate for small children?” But, with a smile, he eventually gave in, quoting,
“When in Rome, behave like Romans.” The crowd erupted in applause and laughter as he prostrated, appreciating his willingness to respect their tradition.
