The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has indefinitely placed Comfort Emmanson, the female passenger who assaulted airline officials on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, on its ‘No Fly’ list
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by AON spokesperson Prof. Obiora Okonkwo.
The statement confirmed that Emmanson was responsible for the assault on crew members and emphasized that the ban is indefinite.
It read: “We condemn the violent incident involving Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air flight Q9 303 from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.
“Therefore, effective immediately, the AON has placed Ms. Emmanson on its ‘No Fly’ list indefinitely. She is hereby banned from flying with any AON member, either domestically or internationally, for life.
“Such incidents have become one too many, with the most recent being the incident involving Nigerian musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) on ValueJet and the unruly behaviour of Senator Adams Oshiomhole towards the staff of Air Peace.”
A video circulating on social media showed Emmanson attacking a flight attendant on board the Ibom Air plane and confronting airport security officials.
In a separate statement on Monday, Ibom Air revealed the incident began just before take-off from Uyo, when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone as required by standard aviation safety procedures.
The airline said a fellow passenger seated beside her took the phone and switched it off, which sparked a verbal outburst from Emmanson.
Upon arrival in Lagos, Emmanson reportedly physically assaulted the crew member who had earlier instructed her to turn off the phone.
Ibom Air described her behavior as a serious threat to the safety of its crew, passengers, and aircraft.
Consequently, the airline imposed a travel restriction on Emmanson, barring her from flying on any Ibom Air aircraft going forward.

Is this madness? Banned from flying for life because of what exactly? What a zoo of people. The people that reap Nigeria day and night, have they been banned from flying? re they in jail? She needs to man up and sue them all.
