President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Tokyo, Japan, for an official visit focused on boosting bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation between both nations
Tinubu landed in the Japanese capital at 1:00 a.m. local time on Monday and was received by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, Japan’s envoy overseeing the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).

According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will center on deepening collaboration in trade, technology, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and education.
The President is expected to hold high-level talks with senior Japanese government officials, business leaders, and major technology companies, with an emphasis on strengthening trade relations, technology transfer, and investment to accelerate Nigeria’s industrialisation drive.
“This official visit underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to expanding Nigeria’s international partnerships and attracting foreign investment that will drive Nigeria’s economic transformation,” Onanuga said.
