Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday ordered Governor Siminalayi Fubara to immediately submit the list of commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation
The appeal came as lawmakers reconvened in Port Harcourt for their first plenary since a six-month suspension caused by the state’s emergency rule. The session took place at the Conference Hall of the Legislative Quarters on Aba Road.
During proceedings, the Assembly praised President Bola Tinubu for lifting the emergency rule and restoring democratic governance in Rivers State.
Members also vowed to honor agreements with key stakeholders to maintain peace and stability.
Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the lawmakers are expected to resume duties following the presidential directive issued on Wednesday.
