Victor Osimhen delivered a masterclass performance on Tuesday, scoring a hat-trick to inspire Nigeria to a commanding 4-0 win over Benin Republic and reignite the Super Eagles’ quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup
The Galatasaray striker opened the scoring just three minutes into the match after converting a precise pass from Samuel Chukwueze.

He added a second with a powerful header in the 37th minute before completing his treble six minutes after the restart with another towering header that left the Benin goalkeeper rooted.
Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka wrapped up the rout in the 90th minute with a well-taken strike to seal a comfortable victory for the former African champions.
Nigeria ended the group stage second in Group C with 17 points, behind leaders South Africa, who booked an automatic ticket to the World Cup.
The Super Eagles will now advance to the playoffs, where they will fight for a spot at the 2026 edition of the global tournament.
