The Kano State Police Command has commenced investigation into the suspected su!cide of a 28-year-old man, Mubarak Hamisu, in the Gyadi-Gyadi area of Tarauni Local Government Area
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust.
He said the report was received from the Divisional Police Officer in Tarauni at about 6:10 a.m. following information from residents of Ja’oji Quarters, Gyadi-Gyadi.
According to him, detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene where the victim was found unresponsive in what is suspected to be a case of su!cide.
Kiyawa stated that no physical signs of violence were observed on the body.
He said the victim was evacuated to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, where he was certified de.ad by medical personnel.
The police spokesperson added that the corpse had been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
He said investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced, assuring that further developments would be communicated to the public.
