“Lizzy was never my friend” – Biodun Okeowo breaks silence on Lizzy Anjorin saga

Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has finally addressed rumors linking her to colleague Lizzy Anjorin, clarifying that their relationship has never been friendship-based.

“PLEASE I WILL NOT APPRECIATE ANY ‘You owe nobody an explanation’ on this post. Sometimes speaking up is necessary! Let me make this very clear once, so nobody will pretend not to understand… That person has NEVER been my friend. We were never friends in real life. I also do not have any close friends in the movie industry. I’m cordial with my colleagues, and I have no issues with anyone, well, that I know of. I’m cool with everyone, including her, too.”

Biodun recalled their only collaboration: a single movie titled Edidi Igbeyawo, noting:

“So we had no fight or whatever, we were cool. So, how will I just jump and fight her because she had a fight with another colleague? These two people have fought in the past, but they settled their differences. In my corner, I was hoping and praying peace would happen again, so I stayed clamouring for peace between them.”

She stressed that she never supported curses or engaged in online drama:

“Now, to what I want to address. I did not support her curses or like any curse post. My likes on her posts were never to support fights. I detest curses… The posts I engaged with were normal posts made out of social media courtesy and reciprocation when she posts about her husband or her business, just as she sometimes liked my own posts. Nothing more.”

On staying neutral, she added:

“Choosing not to take sides has been my way of life. I have people I don’t talk to, but I will tell my children not to follow suit. I don’t encourage anyone to inherit even my own enmity. I have people who can testify to that, too.”
Biodun further refuted claims made about her children:

“But I was not happy. How could someone claim she was fighting for me yet push several false narratives, including that my children have different fathers, also stylishly setting me up for dragging? Let me state it clearly: my children are from the same father. They are both OKEOWO.”

She concluded with a firm reminder:

“Before dropping the pen, I’m stating this clearly: we are not friends, never been. We were colleagues.”
