Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has addressed viral claims suggesting a reconciliation with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, following a football-themed birthday party for their son in Abuja.
Footage from the event showed a man hugging Dikeh, which some social media users mistakenly identified as Churchill, sparking speculation about her relationship with him.
Observers also questioned whether Churchill’s current wife, actress Rosy Meurer, would be upset by the interaction.
Responding in the comments section of an Instagram blog, Tonto clarified that the man in the video was, in fact, Churchill’s uncle. She condemned the online narrative as false and disrespectful.
“This is completely inappropriate and inaccurate.
He is Churchill’s uncle and, by extension, my uncle as well,” Dikeh wrote.
“My son was born in his home, under his care and protection. His wife, Aunty Vivian, was the one who took me to the hospital when I went into labor.”
Dikeh added that her child and she were cared for in the uncle’s home for six months, describing the support as an act of love and protection. She urged followers to exercise more sensitivity when commenting on such personal matters:
“This narrative is deeply disrespectful to him, to me, and to our families. I would appreciate more thoughtfulness and sensitivity moving forward, please.”
