The respected entertainer reportedly passed away on Wednesday at a private hospital in Lagos after battling a prolonged illness.

Agboola was widely celebrated for his contributions to Yoruba broadcasting, comedy and cultural promotion. Over the years, he built a reputation as a passionate cultural ambassador and a proud promoter of Ijesa culture and tradition.

Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues and admirers following news of his de.ath.

He was also widely recognised as a protégé of the late Yoruba comedy legend, Gbenga Adeboye (Funwontan).

After Adeboye’s death, Agboola became one of the figures who helped sustain the distinctive Yoruba variety entertainment style popularised by the comedian. He was known for his work as a presenter on Faaji 106.5FM.

Beyond broadcasting, the late entertainer also appeared in several Yoruba films, often playing witty and humorous roles that reflected his comedic personality.

Reports indicate that he had been battling a mysterious illness for some time, allegedly with limited financial support for his medical treatment before his death.

Further details about his burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
