Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over Iran in an international friendly played in Antalya, Turkey on Friday afternoon
Head coach Eric Chelle fielded a strong lineup despite the absence of key players Victor Osimhen and Stanley Nwabali, a decision that proved effective early on. Moses Simon gave the Super Eagles the lead in the sixth minute with a brilliant solo effort, finishing off a dazzling run.
Nigeria extended their advantage after the break, with Akor Adams finding the net following impressive play from Ademola Lookman. Iran responded through Mehdi Taremi, who pulled one goal back, but it wasn’t enough to stop Nigeria from claiming the win.
The Super Eagles will next face Jordan in another friendly on Tuesday. The match is part of a four-nation invitational tournament that also features Jordan and Costa Rica.
