Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi paid a condolence visit to Nasir El-Rufai at his Abuja residence following the de.ath of the latter’s mother, using the moment to also criticise the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu
During the visit, Amaechi expressed sympathy over El-Rufai’s loss but did not shy away from addressing the recent controversy surrounding the former Kaduna governor’s reported detention by security operatives.
He argued that the circumstances of El-Rufai’s release raised serious concerns about the government’s actions, insisting that the move exposed a deliberate pattern.
“To show you that the government knows what they’re doing, they just released him (El-Rufai) without a court order”
Amaechi’s comments add to the growing chorus of criticism from political figures who have questioned the handling of the situation, with some suggesting it reflects deeper issues within the current administration.
