United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer has affirmed that he will not yield to pressure to alter his stance on the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel in the Middle East
Speaking during a briefing on Wednesday, Starmer reiterated that the UK will not participate in the war, a position he says aligns with the country’s national interests.

His statement comes a day after US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the United States would no longer assist the UK, citing issues around oil transactions in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also suggested that the US might consider withdrawing from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Reacting to Trump’s remarks, Starmer insisted that neither external pressure nor public “noise” would sway his decision.
“I am not going to change my position on the war. Whatever the pressure or the noise, I am the British prime minister; I have to attain our national interest,” he said in a video shared widely on X.
