Iran has announced the full reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, linking the decision to the ongoing ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon
The development follows an announcement by President Donald Trump, who said Lebanon and Israel had agreed to halt hostilities in line with a broader ceasefire understanding previously reached between Iran and the United States.

Reports indicate that Iran and the U.S. had earlier agreed to a two-week ceasefire after peace talks facilitated by Pakistani authorities. However, further negotiations held in Islamabad last week reportedly failed to produce lasting progress.
Although the ceasefire was subsequently agreed upon, Israel is said to have stopped strikes on Iran while continuing military operations in Lebanon.
Iran had earlier warned that ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon could violate the ceasefire arrangement involving the United States, adding that such actions risk undermining wider diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.
