Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court has shifted the bail hearing of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to the first week of June 2026
El-Rufai was recently arraigned on an amended nine-count charge filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, bordering on alleged fraud and abuse of office.

He had appeared before the court last Tuesday for the consideration of his bail application, but proceedings did not reach a conclusion.
At the resumed sitting, Justice Khobo adjourned ruling on the application to April 21, 2026, before later moving the bail hearing further to June.
The former governor had also been granted bail in a separate case by the Federal High Court in Kaduna involving similar corruption allegations brought by the ICPC. In that ruling, he was admitted to bail in the sum of N200 million.
The court further directed that he remain in ICPC custody until he fulfils all bail conditions, which include restrictions on public comments regarding the case and a requirement to attend all court sessions.
