Chukwuma Soludo has nominated Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, mother of the late businessman Martin Onyekesi, widely known as “Fish Magnet,” for the position of Commissioner for Women Affairs in Anambra State
Her son was tragically ki!led by kidnappers last year after being abducted from his residence. His lifeless body was later discovered in another part of Awka before any ransom negotiations could be concluded.
The k!lling sparked widespread outrage across the state, with protests breaking out, including one spearheaded by social media activist VeryDarkMan.
Amid attempts by some political figures to link the incident to political motives, Mrs Onyekesi, a former Women Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Anambra, maintained that her son’s death was not politically driven.
Her nomination is part of a list recently submitted by Governor Soludo to the Anambra State House of Assembly, where she and other nominees are expected to undergo screening.
