Media personality Uti Nwachukwu has shared an emotional tribute in memory of late actor Alexx Ekubo, exactly a week after his passing
Reflecting on the heartbreaking moment he received the devastating news, Uti revealed that he initially dismissed the report as mere speculation while joking around with friends.
According to him, reality only began to sink in after a chilling phone conversation changed everything.
“Today makes it a week. Tuesdays might never be the same again. Goofing around when the first message came. I said, Una never Taya for rumour? Abegee.”
“Then the phone call came, I answered in my playful tone, but my always happy gee’s tone was so cold as he said: ‘I don’t have good news for you’.”
Uti also described the emotional rush to the hospital after receiving another confirmation, admitting that the pain still hits him in waves as he struggles to come to terms with the loss.
“I will never forget the second confirmatory phone call as I raced to the hospital. The pain comes and goes in waves now, and I still can’t get myself to say goodbye.”
“I pray God consoles all your loved ones and gives us the fortitude we all need.”
