Veteran actor Jide Kosoko’s daughter, Temi Kosoko, has reacted to recurring criticism directed at her family within the movie industry.
Speaking candidly, Temi expressed frustration over claims that she and her siblings are often seen as proud or disrespectful simply because their father is a respected figure in Nollywood.
According to her, people frequently report them to their father and accuse the family of receiving special treatment because of his influence in the entertainment industry.
She said:
“I don’t know why our colleagues in the movie industry are always tagging all my siblings and myself as family that has so much Pride and they are always reporting me to my father for being disrespectful.”
Temi explained that while their father’s name may have created opportunities, the family has continued to put in serious effort behind the scenes to build their individual careers.
“Some even said we are been favoured just because our father is in the movie industry and that’s why we are not humble.”
She maintained that hard work remains the foundation of their success and insisted that none of their achievements came without sacrifice.
“Myself and siblings work tirelessly, we put in so much effort just for us to get to this point.”
The actress and content creator also pointed out the realities of coming from a large family, noting that their father has 13 children and cannot singlehandedly finance everyone’s ambitions in filmmaking.
“I am not saying my father name didn’t open doors, but we worked and still working to achieve our goals.”
“And my dad has 13 of us, do they think it’s easy Sponsoring 13 children to produce movies?”.
She concluded by describing the Kosoko family as one built on dedication and consistent hard work.
“We are generally hardworkers in my family.”
