Primate Elijah Ayodele has criticised Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, over her recent distribution of vehicles to APC women leaders.
He said the action was inappropriate given the ongoing situation involving k!dnapped schoolchildren and teachers in parts of the country.
According to him, the First Lady should have taken a stronger public position on the matter instead of focusing on political activities.
In his statement, he said:
“Remi Tinubu, you did not behave like a mother at all.
You can’t even pretend; what you did is very bad. You should have done what Jonathan’s wife did. You never protested or demanded that these Oyo schoolchildren be brought back. Instead, you were busy distributing cars for political campaigns. I will tell you the truth.
‘If you are not careful, your husband might lose the election because of your actions.
I know you don’t like me, but I will tell you the truth.”
He also referenced former First Lady Patience Jonathan, saying she handled similar national concerns differently during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The cleric maintained that his comments were made in response to what he described as misplaced priorities.
