Nollywood actor Mofe Duncan has expressed displeasure over a comment made by a social media user following the Service of Songs held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
Duncan had shared photos from the ongoing Service of Songs held in honour of Ekubo, joining colleagues and friends in paying tribute to the late actor. However, the post attracted criticism from one Instagram user who questioned the sincerity of the public display of grief.
Commenting under Duncan’s post, the user wrote: “All these show off so call love, if they ask one of you to d!e in place of him now……Voicemail.”
The comment did not sit well with Duncan, who responded directly, writing: “Don’t be daft! You already look it..Don’t act it publicly.”
The actor later shared his thoughts on the exchange, expressing disappointment over what he described as the growing tendency for some people to make insensitive comments, particularly on issues involving loss and mourning.
“This aggravate me..This is what happens when you put smart phones in the hands of individuals who were not raised right,” he wrote.
Duncan was among several Nollywood figures who attended the Service of Songs organised in honour of Alexx Ekubo, whose death in May 2026 left many in the entertainment industry mourning the loss of a colleague, friend and celebrated actor. :::
