Peller invited by Nigeria police over mock uniform on livestream

Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has been invited by the Lagos State Police Command for questioning following a controversial livestream in which he and other content creators wore police style uniforms and carried out mock stop-and-search operations on public roads

Peller was joined in the Monday night livestream by fellow creators Ojo, Smart BM, and Jo Blaq. The group was seen wearing uniforms resembling those of the Nigerian Police Force while moving around Lagos roads in a vehicle.

During the stream, they stopped motorists, requested vehicle documents, and performed simulated searches as part of what was presented as entertainment content.

The situation reportedly escalated when they stopped a serving senior police officer and later encountered an actual police checkpoint.

Tense exchanges followed, and clips from the livestream showed a brief physical confrontation involving a soldier.

Music promoter Sam Larry was said to have intervened remotely via phone or video call to help calm tensions. No arrests were made during the livestream, though officers reportedly issued warnings at the scene.

However, Peller confirmed he has been invited by the Nigeria police saying, “I didn’t have a successful stream at all yesterday. I’m currently at the police station now.”
