Singer Timi Dakolo has shared a reflective message about the pressure many men place on themselves to always appear strong, even when exhausted.
He warned that constantly pretending to be okay does not extend life or protect anyone from emotional strain. According to him, real strength should also include knowing when to pause and recover.
“Dear Brotherly, pretending to be strong even when you are really tired doesn’t add years to your life. strong men die too and the world would move on fast. Especially the people you are acting strong for. If you are tired , rest small. Tired no be laziness”, he said.
The message speaks to a reality many people quietly live with especially men who feel they have to keep going no matter how drained they are.
It points to the quiet habit of pushing through exhaustion just to maintain appearances or meet expectations, even when the body and mind are asking for a break.
In that framing, strength also includes knowing when to pause, step back, and breathe.
