Social media commentator Daniel Regha has criticised Davido’s decision to gift N15 million to a fan identified as Abazz, arguing that the money could have made a bigger difference if it had been used to support entrepreneurs.
In a post shared online, Regha said many business owners are currently struggling to keep their ventures afloat and would have benefited more from the financial support. According to him, directing the funds toward entrepreneurs would have been a more impactful use of the money.
He also commented that davido’s gesture is usually more about attracting attention than creating lasting value.
Regha went further to say that if he were Abazz, he would decline the N15 million gift, regardless of being a fan of the singer.
He stated:
“If Davido had used that N15m to fulfil his pledge to entrepreneurs, that would’ve been much better, and much more impactful, as a lot of business owners are struggling to stay in business; But of course, clout is the goal. If I were Abazz, I will turn down the N15m for good reasons; Fan or not.”
