Some workers have been reported trapped under the rubble of a five-storey building that collapsed in Rivers State on Wednesday
It was reported that a building under construction caved in along Amadi Road in Port Harcourt, prompting locals to begin rescue efforts immediately.
Sources said many construction workers were trapped, while others managed to run to safety before the structure collapsed.
The incident occurred just two days after another three-storey building collapsed on Slaughter Street in Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, though nobody was hurt.
Other sources said about seven people were trapped beneath the collapsed building, but three were rescued after rescue efforts began immediately.
Government authorities had yet to confirm the exact reason for the building’s collapse.
