Veteran New Zealand actor Sam Neill, widely known for his roles in Jurassic Park and The Piano, has d!ed at the age of 78
His family announced that the acclaimed actor died suddenly and unexpectedly in Sydney, according to a statement shared on his official social media page on Monday.

Neill revealed in 2023 that he had been diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. However, his family said he had remained cancer-free at the time of his de.ath and did not disclose the cause.
Throughout his decades-long career, Neill earned global recognition for his versatility, starring in critically acclaimed dramas and major Hollywood blockbusters. He was celebrated for his portrayal of Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and for his performance in The Piano.
Neill was among a generation of Australian and New Zealand film stars and filmmakers who gained international prominence during the late 1970s and beyond, alongside names such as Paul Hogan, Mel Gibson, Geoffrey Rush, Russell Crowe, Jane Campion, Peter Weir and Gillian Armstrong.
