Bisola Aiyeola says one of the biggest lessons she has learned over the years is that loyalty should come with wisdom.
Speaking on the Dear Ife podcast, the reality TV star and actress admitted there was a time when she would get involved in disagreements that had nothing to do with her simply because someone close to her was involved.
“I have been in a situation where I have taken a fight that are not mine. I do inherit my friends’ beef to an extent. I have done that before. Not just for people who are my best friends but also for acquaintances and colleagues. I did it even without hearing from the other person.
But I have also been in a situation where I inherited someone’s fight and then they eventually settled and I became the outsider. So, I told myself it’s not everybody’s fight and beef that I would inherit.
I don’t expect people to inherit my beef but if I have an ex-fiance and my best friend decides to bond with him, we are not friends. I have cut ties with men who were dating and quarrelling with my best friends,” she said.
Looking back, Bisola said those experiences changed the way she approaches loyalty and friendship. While she still values standing by the people she cares about, she believes there are situations where it’s better to stay out of conflicts until you understand the full story.
The actress made it clear that certain boundaries remain non-negotiable for her, especially when it comes to close friendships and past relationships.
