Isaac Fayose has addressed the criticism that followed his recent meeting with Seyi Tinubu, saying many people wrongly concluded that he had been influenced because he spent time with the President’s son and offered prayers for him and his father.
Reacting to the accusations in a video posted on his page, the businessman dismissed claims that he collected money or any form of reward, insisting that he has built his wealth independently and has no reason to seek financial favors from politicians.
He said:
“I’ve Been Seeing A Lot Of Nigerians Claiming That I Met With Seyi Tinubu And Was Bribed With Money And Dollars.
I Launched Six Estates This Year Alone, Worth Over ₦19 Billion, Without Any Government Funding. I Also Own Cars Worth Billions. If I Wanted Properties, I Could Get Them From Wike If I Chose To.
Even Before That Prayer, I Made It Clear That Peter Obi Is My Preferred Candidate And That I Will Vote For Him. That Doesn’t Mean I Have To Be Fighting Tinubu.”
Fayose also expressed disappointment with some supporters of Peter Obi who criticised him over the meeting. According to him, supporting Obi does not mean he has to avoid or fight members of the Tinubu family.
He added that despite openly backing Peter Obi and campaigning for him, Obi has never personally acknowledged or appreciated his support, making it unfair for people to dictate who he can or cannot associate with.
“It will not be well with you guys!!! Has Obi visited me since I started campaigning for him?”, he said
