Jarvis has finally clarified her statement about her relationship with fiancé Peller after a resurfaced podcast clip claims that the couple had entered into a blood covenant
The controversy began after an old video resurfaced in which Jarvis spoke about the consequences of cheating in their relationship.
“If you cheat, you die. It’s the rule of the relationship,” she said.
She further explained that their relationship is built on faith and commitment to God.
“Things will not go well for the person. Everything will crumble because we’re in a commitment. We pray together, we commit our hearts to Jesus, and God is involved. You now go and do that? Will God just be looking at you? I will swear for you,” she added.
The video got many Nigerians interpreting her comments to mean that she and Peller had sealed their relationship with a blood covenant.
As the criticism continued to grow, Jarvis took to social media to clear the air, insisting that people had misunderstood what was said.
She wrote:
“Good morning everyone.
Please, who exactly did they say performed a blood covenant or took an oath? As far as I can remember, it definitely wasn’t me and my partner.
I’m honestly confused. Has everyone suddenly gone deaf after listening to the podcast?
The only covenant we have is with God.”
The explanation comes just days before Jarvis and Peller are expected to tie the knot on August 1.
