Blessing CEO has been granted N20 million bail by the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja in her ongoing trial over an alleged N69.15 million fraud
Justice Rahman Oshodi approved her bail application on Thursday, stating that the court had carefully considered the seriousness of the charges and the punishment attached under the law.
Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge of alleged stealing and obtaining money under false pretences.
According to the EFCC, she allegedly collected N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited in March 2025 after claiming she would secure the lease of a property in Lekki, Lagos. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
During the hearing, the court requested clarification on the whereabouts of her international passport. Her lawyer explained that it had been lost and presented an affidavit of loss along with public notices confirming the development.
Justice Oshodi ruled that Blessing CEO must provide two responsible sureties in the same N20 million amount. Each surety is required to submit a three-year bank statement or proof of a fixed deposit worth at least N20 million.
The court also directed that the defendant and her sureties be profiled through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System and ordered the Nigerian Immigration Service to enforce her travel restrictions while the case is pending.
The trial was adjourned until October 12, 2026, for continuation.
