Paul Okoye has shared a cryptic post celebrating his Nigerian and Igbo identity, just days after his twin brother, Peter Okoye, responded to criticism over his children’s inability to speak a Nigerian language.
Without mentioning anyone directly, the singer spoke about the importance of culture, native language and identity, saying they are part of what defines him.
On his X page, he wrote:
“I’m a ‘nobody’ I repeat!! a nobody!! without the culture, native, language, the pride, of a Nigerian 🫡🇳🇬100% proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬100% proudly Igbo 🫡”
In another post, Paul reaffirmed his pride in his roots, writing:
“100% proudly Igbo 🫡100% proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬❤️ #musicallyrude 🎼🎙️ Stay blessed and alive 🙏”.
Paul’s posts came days after Peter Okoye dismissed critics questioning why his children do not speak a Nigerian language, insisting that how he raises his family is a personal decision.
The latest posts come amid the long-running rift between the Okoye twins. Peter and Paul have had several public fallouts over the years, with disagreements over their music career and family matters leading to multiple breakups and reconciliations.
Their relationship remains strained, with both brothers occasionally making posts that fans interpret as subtle references to one another.
