Charles Okocha was declared the winner of his celebrity boxing rematch against singer Portable after the musician left the ring before the contest was completed.
The fight took place in Lagos on Friday, July 31, and ended in unusual circumstances when Portable stepped out of the ring during the bout and did not return to continue. With the contest unable to resume, officials awarded the victory to Okocha.
The result reversed the outcome of their first meeting in December 2023, when Portable defeated Okocha in a four-round celebrity boxing match. After that defeat, Okocha maintained that the officiating was flawed and repeatedly pushed for a rematch.
Their second meeting finally gave the actor the outcome he had been seeking. With Portable unable to continue after leaving the ring, Okocha was declared the winner, bringing their latest celebrity boxing contest to an abrupt end.
