Comedian Edo Pikin has cleared the air over controversy surrounding Seun Kuti’s dramatic exit from the wedding celebration of content creators Peller and Jarvis, insisting that the singer misunderstood what was said during the event

According to him, the incident was based on a misunderstanding, insisting that nobody at the wedding compared Wizkid to late Afrobeat legend, FELA KUTI.

Taking to his page to clarify,  he said:

“I don’t know why we are always attracted to negativity and bad news. There were three MCs at Peller’s wedding.

”Nobody compared Wizkid to Baba Fela at the wedding; we were only talking about Wizkid and Davido, Ronaldo and Messi.

”I also said the DJ shouldn’t make the music too loud and should stop behaving like people who say they’re bigger than Baba Fela.

”Egbon Seun Kuti, we don’t know what you want. when someone calls out Baba Fela, it’s a problem; When someone praises Fela, it’s still a problem also.

”You didn’t calm down to listen; you just angrily walked away and missed the rice and pounded yam and all the sweet food served at the wedding.

”Next time, calm down and listen deep.”

Edo Pikin said there were three masters of ceremony at the wedding and none of them compared Wizkid with Fela Kuti.

He explained that the only comparisons made during the event were the usual conversations about Wizkid and Davido, as well as football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

He also explained that his mention of Baba Fela came while speaking to the DJ. According to him, he only asked the DJ to reduce the volume of the music and joked that the DJ should not behave like people who claim they are bigger than Baba Fela.

The comedian said Seun Kuti became upset before listening to the complete statement and left the venue immediately. He added that the singer missed the food served at the wedding, including rice, pounded yam and other meals.
