Jude Okoye has responded to the allegations made by his younger brother, Peter Okoye, making it clear that there was no diversion of royalties or any financial misconduct on his part.
Speaking in a video titled “Debunking the Lies,” Jude said the issues Peter raised are not new. According to him, they were already reviewed during investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and are now part of an ongoing court case.
He particularly addressed the allegation that he and Paul Okoye diverted a royalty payment of about $25,000. Jude insisted there was nothing suspicious about the transaction, explaining that the payment was processed exactly as Peter had instructed years earlier.
To support his position, Jude pointed to an email from digital distributor Iroko, which he said showed Peter requested that his own share of the royalties be paid directly to him, while the remaining amount due to Jude and Paul was paid into the Northside Entertainment account.
Jude also responded to Peter’s claim that he was removed as a signatory to the company’s bank accounts. Displaying what he described as the official bank mandate, he maintained that Peter’s name remained on all P-Square accounts. He said those same documents had already been tendered before the court.
Another issue Jude disputed was Peter’s claim that it took more than three months to release access to P-Square’s music catalogue backend. According to Jude, Peter made the request in October 2022, and the records were delivered six days later. He added that download logs indicated the files were accessed on the same day they were sent.
Jude also disagreed with Peter’s statement that he only began receiving royalty payments in dollars recently. Showing what he described as past payment records, he claimed Peter had been receiving dollar-denominated royalties as far back as 2012.
On the allegation that over $1.2 million in royalties had been diverted, Jude said the figures being circulated were inaccurate. He maintained that every payment was properly accounted for and shared based on the agreements already in place.
Closing his response, Jude accused Peter of taking the dispute to social media while the legal process is still ongoing. He said he would not go into matters currently before the court beyond responding to what he described as false allegations.
Jude Okoye’s latest statement comes just hours after his younger brother, Peter Okoye, shared another series of videos revisiting their long-running family dispute.
In the videos, Peter alleged that Jude secretly registered another company to receive P-Square’s music royalties without his knowledge, claimed he was repeatedly denied access to the group’s financial records and backend accounts, and accused his elder brother of controlling the duo’s earnings for years. Peter also alleged that his twin brother, Paul (Rudeboy), chose to support Jude instead of asking questions about the group’s finances.
