You only came to inspect the car! Dealer calls out TikTok influencer over ₦80m Benz claim

A car dealer has called out TikTok influencer Barbiie Nelly over videos showing her with a Mercedes-Benz said to be worth more than ₦80 million she claimed to be a gift from her lover

The dealer accused the influencer of creating the impression that the luxury car had been gifted to her by her boyfriend, insisting that no such sale ever took place at his dealership.

According to him, Barbiie Nelly and the people she arrived with only came to inspect the vehicle. He claimed they looked around the car, recorded several videos with it and told the dealership they would return the next day to complete the purchase.

The dealer, however, alleged that they never came back. He said the videos were later shared online in a way that made it appear the Mercedes-Benz already belonged to the influencer.

Using the incident as an example, the dealer warned people against taking everything they see on social media at face value, especially posts involving expensive cars and luxury lifestyles.

Expressing his disappointment, he said:

“Don’t believe everything you see on social media. Popular TikTok influencer Barbiie Nelly, who posted videos with a Mercedes-Benz worth over ₦80 million and claimed it was a gift from her boyfriend, only came to inspect the car.”
