A Nigerian student in the UK who was caught by online paedophile hunters trying to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for s.ex has been jailed for three years
Anderson Ishiekwene, a 25-year-old Nigerian national, was arrested in Washington eight days after starting a s.exual conversation with a decoy profile online.
Ishiekwene admitted attempting to engage in s.exual communications with a child and was found guilty of attempting to meet a child following s.exual grooming.
He arrived in the UK from Nigeria on a student visa in August 2025 and settled in Sunderland.
He would be deported back to Nigeria after his prison sentence.
