Media personality Nedu Wazobia has spoken about the growing pressure of daily life in the country, pointing to rising expenses and the struggle many families now face just to get by.
He said the situation has gone beyond things simply being expensive, with many people finding it increasingly difficult to meet basic needs. According to him, salaries often disappear quickly as people deal with rent, school fees, food, transportation, fuel and healthcare costs.
In a post he shared, Nedu said:
“Nigeria is not just expensive anymore. Nigeria is becoming difficult to survive in. If you are a father, a mother or a young person trying to make something out of yourself, you already know what I’m talking about.
“You go work, you go collect salary and somehow the money go disappear even before the month start, even before you reach house. Those wey be mama and papa, house rent day, school fees day, food money dey. Transport fare, fuel and not to even talk about healthcare wey Lasisi talk about the other day.
“Everything keeps going up but the money in our pockets keep buying less. Some people are now becoming desperate, doing things they won’t normally do just to survive.
While Nigerians are struggling with the economy, we are also dealing with insecurity.”
