Comedian I Go Save has described the 2027 presidential election as a contest between the poor and what he called the “paid poor.”
In a post about the coming election, he wrote:
“2027 election is between the poor and the ‘paid poor.!!! Not Business as usual”.
His comment was made in reference to the presidential race, which is expected to be one of the biggest political contests in the country in 2027.
The election will determine who takes over the leadership of Nigeria for the next presidential term, with political parties expected to put forward their candidates as the race takes shape.
For I Go Save, the phrase “poor” and “paid poor” appears to draw a line between ordinary Nigerians dealing with the realities of everyday life and people he believes are brought into political campaigns or activities in exchange for money.
His “Not Business as usual” line somehow means that he sees the 2027 presidential election as a moment when voters and political participants could approach the contest differently from previous elections.
