Finding a job after graduation can take time, and Ola of Lagos believes job seekers need to be more persistent in looking for opportunities.
During his appearance on TheKKShow podcast, the automobile influencer pointed to some of his own staff members as an example, saying they continued reaching out to him before eventually getting an opportunity to work with him.
He said:
“To people that are graduates that are still struggling, it’s partially your fault.“
He also spoke about expectations when someone gets a job with a successful person. For him, getting through the door is only the beginning, and people should not expect their financial situation to change immediately.
“You have to understand that it’s a process. Elon Musk can be paying you $200 in a month because he has trillions of dollars or billions of dollars. Doesn’t mean he go pack everything give you.
“You have to understand that Elon Musk is trying to go to another level too, and if you really want to go with him, you have to calm down”, Ola stated.
His advice was simple: give the process time, stay committed and avoid expecting quick results.
“People should calm down. They should trust the process. Calm down. This is what I’m talking about here. Every CEO can relate, even yourself. You need to calm down”, he added.
